The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association, the El Paso County Sheriff's Officers' Association and International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 51, have endorsed state Sen. Eliot Shapleigh, D-El Paso.

Lorraine O'Donnell, a candidate who challenged state Rep. Pat Haggerty in Tuesday's Republican primary election, carried a majority of the precincts in the district, which covers Northeast El Paso and part of the West Side. Out of 36 precincts, O'Donnell carried 19 and tied with Haggerty for one, according to the El Paso County Elections Department precinct results.
